We serve the Hindu community of Tampa Bay and beyond by providing a range of sacred
Hindu rituals and experiences: We provide hospitality, friendship, and community among
a diverse devotee’ ship; a variety of opportunities for prayer and the study of Hinduism is promoted.
We are continually seeking innovative ways to create a place of profound spiritual engagement
for individuals and families; a place where each of us has a voice; and a place where all will
find a caring extended family to carry us through life’s journey thru Hindu Dharma.
WHO WE ARE
A HINDU COMMUNITY:
We are participants in a meaningful, joyful, authentic ritual life. We are guided by the
traditions and values of Hinduism and its Dharma. At the same time, we honor and celebrate a
range of sacred Hindu practices. We nurture and encourage all who wish to infuse their lives with
Hindu learning, prayer, and worthy deeds.
A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS:
We are equal, with both genders participating equally in all aspects of worship
and leadership. We embrace our diversity, we encourage married and single individuals,
and children to participate in worship, we encourage all Hindu’s regardless of where you
were born or lived to participate and get involved as to be enriched by the experience of
young and old THRU learning and praying together.
A COMMUNITY FOR LEARNING:
We are actively engaged in deepening our knowledge of Hindu life and in the constant
evolution of Hindu practice. We are committed to supporting our young people’s full participation in the Hindu community.
A COMMUNITY FOR HEALING THE WORLD:
We are intertwined with the Tampa Bay area. We advocate Hindu values and social justice within our
community, around our country, and around the world. We hold our Hindu brothers and sisters in our hearts,
while recognizing the diversity of opinion surrounding the many facets on how Worship will be done. We are
Santaan at this Mandir and we will worship in this preferred manner. All Hindu’s are welcome.
The key objectives of the Vishnu Mandir are to:
- Strive to fulfill growing need of our society to obtain authentic understanding of the vast
and rich heritage of Hindu religious traditions, philosophy and culture.
- Operate a place of Hindu worship and conducting activities aimed at the cultural and spiritual development of the community.
These activities will address religious, cultural, and philosophical aspects of Hindu Dharma in its broadest sense and will include all sects (Sampardayas) of Hindu faith.
